Apr News from Granby Grange No. 5

By Dave Roberts

  APRIL 8, 2025 --

On March 8th, Granby Grange #5 held a work party at their historic Grange hall in North Granby. During the event, Connecticut State Representative Mark Anderson, a member, stopped by to lend a hand and present several Grange members with an official proclamation from the Connecticut General Assembly, recognizing this milestone 150th Anniversary.

Granby Grange was the fifth Grange to be chartered in Connecticut. Harvey Godard, the Grange’s first president, also served as the first president of the Connecticut State Grange. In 1940, the Grange moved into its current location at 212 North Granby Road, a historic building that once served as both the Town Hall and a schoolhouse.

Today, Granby Grange is led by Judy Doyle, who is deeply commit- ted to building upon the community’s rich agricultural history while continuing to serve its members.
