From The Chaplain's Desk
From the Chaplain’s Desk: Benedictions

By Charles Dimmick, State Chaplain

  DECEMBER 1, 2023 --

Holy Father, you have blessed us with an abundance of the fruits of the earth. We are about to participate in the enjoyment of a share of this abundance. We give you heartfelt thanks for the same and ask you to bless this food for our use and us to thy service. AMEN

Blessed are you, Lord our God, maker of heaven and earth and Father of all your people: We give you glory for your goodness and for your living care for us. Bless this food and grant that all who eat of it may be strong in body and grow in your love. Blessed are you, Lord our God, for ever and ever. AMEN

Loving God, bless all those gathered here today as we come together in friendship and fellowship. Thank you for food in a world where many know only hunger; for our faith in a world where many know fear; for friends in a world where many know only loneliness. Please bless this food we are about to share and may the strength it imparts be used in thy service and that of humanity.

AMEN

Heavenly Father, who openest Thine hand to satisfy the desires of every living thing, make us grateful for Thy present provision, and may the strength it imparts be used in Thy service and that of humanity. AMEN
