JANUARY 2009 -- We are in the first quarter of a new year. State Session and the National Session is a thing of the past. We no longer have them as an excuse that we have no time to think about getting new members. The excitement of the National Session here in Connecticut should have us all charge up to go out and get new members.
To steal a paragraph from the National Grange Membership Tip of the Month - If we are excited about what our Grange is doing others will start looking into what the Grange is about. We are the reason people join. Friends and fellowship is the No. 1 reason people join. Excitement can be expressed in different ways. You can “show” it and you can “tell” it.
We all need to “tell” people what we are doing and to “show” by our actions that we really mean what we are saying. We not only need to get new members, we need to get those good members back who no longer come to meetings. Whatever you do – do it with a smile. It's contagious.
