| JULY 10, 2015 -- The CWA and the Big E. The Connecticut State Grange CWA entrants were judged at Cheshire Grange on June 13. The first place winners in each category will be going to the New England Building at the Big E in West Springfield, Mass. This September for judging in the Northeast Connection.
I hope that you won a blue ribbon. The Big E is a very large stage for these entries to be seen. They will be viewed by thousands of visitors to the New England Grange Building during the Big E Fair. The first place winners there will go on to the National Grange Session this November.
The CWA entries are not the only displays visitors to the building will see. The building is full of all the creative talents that the members of the Granges in the Northeast Connection have donated to the building for sale. The afghans, quilts, mittens, scarves, baby sets, crafts and everything imaginable are on sale there. The sale of these items constitute the sole revenue of the building and along with all the literature and knowledgeable staff exemplify the purpose of the Grange to the public.
I hope that if your entry didn’t make it this year you will try again next year and I hope to see many of you at the New England Grange Building this September. |
