Lecturer's Corner: 100th Northeast Lecturer’s Conference

By Marge Bernhardt, CT State Grange Lecturer

  FEBRUARY 10, 2015 --

The 100th ANNUAL NORTH EAST GRANGE LECTURERS CONFERENCE will be held August 3, 4, & 5, 2015, at Saint Joseph’s College in Standish, Maine.  This is northwest of Portland on Sebago Lake.  The overall theme of the conference will be 100 YEARS OF….   Connecticut’s program will be 100 Years of Education.  If you have any suggestions or want to volunteer to be in the program I would love to hear from you.  Other programs will be 100 Years of Transportation, Discovery, Leisure Activities, Agriculture, Music and Literature.

The cost of the conference will be $190 Double or $200 Single.  This is less than the price last year.  We are looking for memories you would like to share about past conferences and any mementoes you may be willing to share with us.  Again, please see me.

The college is right on the lake and has its’ own beach we can use free of charge or for a fee you can swim in their pool.  All buildings and rooms will be air conditioned.

The plan is to make this a special event to celebrate our 100th Anniversary.  I will be mailing out information as soon as I receive it in early May.  Hope you can set those dates aside and plan on celebrating with all of us.

ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON, FEBRUARY 22, AT 2:00 p.m. A LECTURERS’ MEETING will be held at Cheshire Grange Hall.  In the past, this has been for Pomona Lecturers only.  This year we are inviting all Grangers to come and help us plan our year ahead.  Hope to see you there…
