October News from Taghhannuck Grange No. 100

By Barbara Prindle

  October 10, 2022 --

Oct. 13: Installation of Officers. Ref. Debbie Hanlon

Nov. 10: Transition Towns by Chris Hopkins. Ref Janet Nickson

Dec. 8:   Cookie Exchange. Ref. Cookies & Milk

We meet the second Thursday of the month. Social time with refreshments at 7PM and the meeting starts at 7:30PM.

At our September meeting we draped the charter for Millie Massey who came to our Grange from Wichita in 2008. She cheerfully held the office of Flora at Taghhannuck for many years and is missed by all.

Donations were made to the Sharon Food Pantry, Cornwall Food & Fuel fund and the Washington/ Warren Food Bank. This is the end of our Grange year and our donation to The Heifer Project completed our yearly donations.

A big “Thank You” goes out to Shirley Moore for sending us the samples of the canvas needlepoint Grange bookmarks that she designed when I showed her, at our last Pomona meeting, what the Sharon Library was giving out. We displayed them at our tents/booth at the Cornwall Agricultural Fair and visitors loved them. We have a contact list of 10 fairgoers who want to know more about our Grange.

At our October meeting we will discuss the Resolutions assigned to our committee coming up at State Session. This gives in-put from our members and direction to our delegates.
