Killingly Grange News for February 2015

By Glenna Bruno

  FEBRUARY 2, 2015 --

On Dec. 1st, our regular meeting, we sang Christmas songs.  Our new Master presided.  Patricia Valys was installed at our November meeting.  Other members were installed by Joan Perry, Master of Senexet Grange.  At our Dec. 1st meeting Bruce Koh, was installed Asst. Steward and Cranston Briggs as Gatekeeper.  Our new Secretary Julie Jussaume is doing a good job and has been very busy coordinating the information needed for long time (though not active) members of Killingly Grange.  Mikel Fiske received his 50 year certificate.  It was a long time coming.  Mikel is a retired Army major.  There are other members of Killingly Grange that will be receiving their 50 year certificates, namely Cranston Briggs.

The Christmas party was well attended.  The Lecturer’s Program was a Yankee Swap of Christmas gifts.  That’s always fun.  You sometimes never get to keep what you first picked.  Glenna Bruno had a program on Christmas celebrations in other countries with some costumes and told of their culture.  Nancy Arena (LAS) is doing a good job collecting community service hours.

The Farmer’s Market is still continuing until April.  Also breakfast served during this time.  Recently some of the lady members painted, decorated ice skates and Bruce Kohl made a display rack for them.

Bruce is also doing an excellent job of maintenance work on our building which is badly needed.  Way to go, Bruce!

Feb. 2:  Hobbies on Parade

Feb. 16:  Snow Date or Special Event
