Bridgewater Grange December News Update

By Charles Perry

  DECEMBER 1, 2013 --

We had our regular meeting at the Grange Hall on October 9 2013. Thanks to all our volunteers who prepared for our roast beef dinner on Friday Oct 11 and Sat Oct 12. The dinner went well on Sat from 5:30 to 7:30.  A Hootenanny with Jeff Case and Friends followed.

Fred Camp and Dean Perry attended the Connecticut State Grange Session on October 17 and 18 in Norwich Connecticut. It was very interesting and I was glad to have Fred guide me along.

We opened the Bridgewater Grange Hall for Halloween night from 6:00 to 8:30. There was a “Trunk or Treat’ in the Bridgewater Post Office parking lot. There was a haunted bus and a lot of neat costumes. The night started slow but we did get well over 100 kids.

We will have a pot luck dinner on Nov 13th at 6:30 followed by a regular meeting. On November 26th we will pass out fruit baskets and visit shut-ins.

Our last regular meeting of the year will be a week earlier in the month of December. The meeting will be on Wednesday December 4th. On Friday December 6th we will open the Grange Hall for the Bridgewater Christmas Tree lighting ceremony. We will give out cookies and hot chocolate and maybe have a visit from Santa ( or Mrs Santa Clause)?

The Bridgewater Grange Hall is closed for the winter after that. Our meetings will be held in nearby St Marks church until we reopen it in April 2014. The meetings will be on the second Sunday at 2 PM in January, February and March.
