| FEBRUARY 4, 2013 -- Hillstown Grange recently held a Soup-N-Seed event on Thursday evening, January 24. Doors opened at 6:00 P.M. for our homemade soup dinner followed by a gardeners’ forum about getting the garden started. Soups were made from this winter’s root cellar produce featuring pumpkin and garden vegetable soup.
The Agricultural Committee announced this year’s special gardening contest and seeds are now available.
The gardening discussion concluded with a question and answer time, giving all attendees a chance to talk and dream about their 2013 gardens. Seed catalogs were shared. This was a great for novice or first time gardeners to learn from the old pros.
