Central Pomona No. 1 held its Christmas meeting at Hemlock Grange Hall in Portland.  The festivities began with a potluck supper at 6 P.M. with Grange members from other Pomona Granges also attending from as far west as Fairfield County and as far east as East Central Pomona.  During the Central Pomona business meeting the count of Granges was 14 Central Pomona members along with 24 guests and dignitaries from around the State.

For dessert 95 year old Mildred Bell was presented with a special birthday cake, with a picture collage of photographs of Grange events she was a part of included on top of the cake.  Mildred Bell was later presented during New Business by the Secretary of the National Grange Executive Committee, F. Philip Prelli with an 80 year anniversary certificate from Central Pomona.
