Bridgewater Grange News for December

By Dean Perry

  DECEMBER 6, 2012 --

We had our regular meeting at the Grange Hall on Wednesday, October 10th.  We had our famous Roast Beef Dinner on October 13th, the second Saturday of October from 5:30 to 7:30  and we served over 100 people. It was a great meal  consisting of roast beef, mashed potatoes, vegetables, Jell-O salads, coffee, tea  and desserts. Each dinner is a success because of the hard work of many volunteers. Many were Grange members but many were friends and volunteers. And each dinner is a success because of the support of the public.

We want to point out the work of Jeff Case in particular. He is the main organizer and the cook. He also organizes a Hootenanny that follows each Roast Beef Dinner and goes from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm or so. He has an ever changing group of friends joining him and quite a variety of music. They put on a good show and it is becoming a big thing!

Despite the problems that hurricane Sandy brought, we opened the Grange Hall for Halloween. Over one hundred children came. We will continue with our meetings in the Grange Hall this winter but the times and dates may be changed.

We had a meeting and Pot Luck dinner on Wednesday November 14th. Also we passed out Thanksgiving baskets the following week.
