| OCTOBER 10, 2012 -- Our Pomona picnic at Bluff Point State Park was well attended. the day was sunny and warm and the food was plentiful and delicious. After everyone had eaten his or her fill, many chose to take the lovely (albeit long) stroll out to the bluffs that give the park its name. Some stayed behind to play “Flicken’ Chicken” or “Ladderball.” Others just relaxed under the cool trees and enjoyed the lovely surroundings and the companionship of fellow Grangers. All in all it was an extremely pleasurable afternoon.
On October 13th Pomona will hold a fundraiser at the North Stonington Grange Hall and grounds from 10 A.M. until 2 P.M. Bring an antique or two and have it appraised by one of the resident experts. You may find you have been harboring a treasure! Visit a Civil War soldier upstairs in the Grange Hall, purchase an antique from one of the vendors out under the pavilion, and have soup and a sandwich for lunch. There will be lots to do and see. Come and enjoy and support our Pomona.
