| MARCH 6, 2012 -- Barbara "Bobbie Jane" Steeves passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, March 5, 2012 surrounded by her family. Born July 22, 1933 in Torrington; the daughter of the late Otto Wald and Ethel (Huggins) Wald.
Barbara was a life long resident of Bakersville. She is a member of the Eureka Grange in Nepaug. Barbara retired from the Torrington Company 12 years ago.
She was a devoted mother to her sons, daughters, grandchildren and Great-grandchildren. Her husband Albert W. Steeves pre-deceased her 11 yrs ago. She is survied by her Children, daughter Linda (Steeves) Hull and husband David of Bakersville, daughter Donna (Steeves) Henry and husband John of Torrington, son Allan Steeves and wife Brenda (Bonk) of Bakersville and son Ronnie Steeves of Bakersville. Grandchildren, Kristy Rovero, David Hull, Jr., Heather Henry, Honoria Severson, Wesley Steeves, Rebekah Steeves, Joshua Steeves, Matthius Steeves Victoria Steeves, Ian Bonk and 14 Great Grandchildren. She is survived by her sister Lena Troland, Ida Nowacki and brother Frank Wald.
Family and Friends may call on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at Montano-Shea Funeral Home, 5 Steele Rd, New Hartford from 5 to 7 p.m. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at The Bakersville United Methodist Church at 1087 Litchfield Trpk, New Hartford at 11 am. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Eureka Grange in Nepaug and The Bakersville United Methodist Church or any charity of your choice.
