Prospect Grange No. 144 celebrated Grange Month this past April with a Sunday celebration to honor the accomplishments of several members of the Grange and the local community.

Representative Vicki Nardello, Senator Joan Hartley and Prospect Mayor Robert Chatfield presented special certificates honoring local residents Marty Lautenschlager and Theresa Graveline.

Marty Lautenschlager was presented with Prospect Grange's Public Service Award.  Marty currently serves as the present Fire Chief of the Prospect Volunteer Fire Department.

Theresa Graveline was presented the Citizen of the Year award for her many years of volunteer work in the town of Prospect, including serving on several town committees and participating at many school activities.

Prospect Grange was proud to be able to present Inez Bramhall, a very active Grange member, with her 75 year membership certificate.  Bramhall has been active since the day she joined the Grange 75 years ago and still volunteers more than 30 hours a month at the Senior Center and Local Convalescent Homes as well as making hats, scarves, bookmarks, and afghans for various local charities. Connecticut State Grange President Robert Sendewicz presented this most prestigious award.

Frances & Bill Maxwell also received their seals honoring 55 years of Grange membership, Elaine Graveline and Tina Meehan both received their 25 year membership certificates.  Margaurite Moran was honored for 50 years membership and presented her Golden Sheaf certificate.

Several visitors representing the Connecticut State Grange and a variety of other local (subordinate) Granges were on hand for the celebration, along with over 50 non-Grange members.  The celebration was held at the the Prospect Senior Center (formerly Prospect Grange Hall).
